What Should You Do?

With a focus on well-being, it stands to reason that this resort has an excellent spa. The Spa de Sol is mostly outside, with a huge wooden deck with loungers, a fish pedicure area, stunning ocean views, and secluded palapas where you may enjoy a massage amid a vivid flower garden. While admission to the spa area is free, spa services will cost extra.

The all-inclusive package at Stella Island covers each island’s breakfast, lunch, and dinner. During your stay, you can visit nine restaurants once. Fewer than ten nights. All typical branded alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including hot and cold coffee inventions, are included and provided at the several bars around the pools and on the beach. What Should You Do?

We chose this resort because of its fantastic swimming pools, so take advantage of them. Conversely, Crete has a lot to offer along its hundreds of miles of coastline, among its hills and mountains, and in its traditional Greek villages. Several nearby water sports centers offer activities such as water skiing, pedal boats, parasailing, banana boating, and more. Renting a small boat is especially preferable if you’re comfortable.

Divers on diving tours around Crete will love the underwater canyons, cliffs, caverns, and shipwrecks. On land, you can add an element of fun by exploring the rocky interior of the island on a mountain bike or horseback, passing by thousand-year-old ruins and little communities that have endured through generations. Trekkers will find a plethora of trails through Crete’s mountains.

What Should You Eat and Drink?

At Stella Island, there are two buffet breakfast options: Kimata and La Parilla, both of which serve a wide range of American classics. Kimata provides an international buffet during lunch, while La Parilla moves to casual à-la-carte dining, specializing in meats. Other casual lunch options and poolside cocktails include the Cabana Pool Bar and the Makuti Infinity Bar. But those aren’t the only two bars on the property; Utopia, Umbra, and Paraiso also serve drinks near the pools and on the beach.

This resort offers a wide range of supper selections. Kimata’s cosmopolitan feast continues. Oceana offers a la carte seafood from the Aegean and beyond. Vegera serves traditional Cretan cuisine, Umami serves sushi and Japanese barbecue, and La Parilla serves beef specialties. The best part is that they’re all included in your all-inclusive stay.

Room Instructions

Stella Island has seven different room categories to choose from, including room size, view, pool access, and private jacuzzi or pool, to mention a few. We’ll simplify them here, but feel free to check over the ones you like on Stella’s website, as they give layouts and photographs.

• Luxury Pool View and Premium Pool View: These are the most affordable accommodations, with upper-floor views of the resort and its swimming pools from floor-to-ceiling windows. The most significant distinction between the two is their size, which is 290 square feet (27 square meters) against 366 square feet (34 square meters), resulting in a more spacious arrangement in the latter.
• Luxury Swim-Up & Premium Swim-Up: Direct access to the resort’s spectacular swimming pools from your balcony is one of the most significant ways to enjoy them. They are the same size as the luxury and premium options above, but your terrace is a wooden deck over the pool with sun loungers.
• Overwater Bungalow, with or without Jacuzzi: These two accommodation styles are the Greek interpretation of those lovely overwater bungalows on tropical island resorts. The regular version is a private, individual room sitting nearly entirely over the pool and with direct access to it. At the same time, the jacuzzi option adds just that, plus extra space and a hammock over the pool.
• Island Villa Private Pool: The top of the top at Stella Island does more than direct pool access – it gives you your own. This is a reasonably spacious room at around 860 square feet (80 square meters) with a pool buried in its courtyard between sliding glass doors and your outdoor furniture set. It’s the perfect setting for an intimate day under the Greek sun away from the world.

Stella Island is an adults-only experience, making it a great site to host a special event or romantic trip. Both are located on a beautiful white-sand, aqua-blue ocean beach. Both sides of this big resort are all-inclusive, and the best part is that they both have access to the other. Your stay includes access to more than 20 dining establishments with unlimited food and drink and room service. Non-motorized watersports, daily activities, and nightly entertainment are all free. 

What Should You Do?

Couples and adults will undoubtedly appreciate the infinity pools and lounge chairs on the resort’s quieter side. In contrast, families will enjoy the waterpark layout on the other side, with its numerous slides and dump buckets. There are plenty of places to unwind by the water here. There’s more to do on the beach than relax under a palm tree (though you could). Water sports that do not require a motor, such as kayaking, snorkeling, and windsurfing, are accessible at no cost from the resort. A PADI dive center is on-site and ready to take divers to nearby wrecks and reefs.

A few miles away, there are two smaller uninhabited islands, Catalina Island and Saona Island, where guests can take day excursions and enjoy deserted beaches rich in starfish and vivid corals for a few hours. Sunset cruises with beverages on the water are another popular cruise in this area. Activities such as zip line, trekking to waterfalls, and exploring caverns are available throughout the Dominican Republic’s mainland; the latter is near the hotel. The adjacent La Romana and Santo Domingo villages are great sites to learn about Caribbean history while dining and drinking.

Between the restaurants, bars, and cafés of the Hilton La Romana’s family-friendly and adults-only sides, more than 20 eating outlets are available as an all-inclusive guest – plus 24-hour room service. Breakfast is offered at Spices Market and Caoba, where you’ll discover a buffet-style presentation of exotic treats every morning. Other breakfast nibbles are available at various cafés and club lounges for visitors who buy a Premium Club fee. Spices Market and Caoba resume their buffet services during midday.

Guests can also have a slice or two at Pizzeria near the poolside or head for more sophisticated French gastronomy at Tres Hermanas. Bars like Coral Reef provide light and casual eats all day as well. Evenings open up the most significant diversity for eating. Spices Market and Caoba keep the buffet lines rolling and serve distinct dishes each night. Try something fresh at Ausangate, where South American specialties are presented, or something a bit more familiar but unmistakable at Azzurri, serving Italian classics. Other nighttime eateries serve Pan-Asian, French, and native Dominican food.

The Hilton La Romana buildings are mainly one vast resort. Still, you may book reservations on various websites depending on whether you want to be on the family-friendly or adult-only side. The accommodation classifications are virtually the same at both.

• Deluxe accommodations: Available on both sides of the resort, these entry-level accommodations provide a garden or partial ocean view and one king plus a couch bed or two queen beds. Their nicely equipped 411 square feet (38 square meters) apartment includes a furnished terrace, balcony, and minibar.
• Premium Club Categories: These rooms have the same space and facilities as the Deluxe category and the same bedding selections and views. On the other hand, Premium Club visitors get access to privileges such as dedicated greeting services, a VIP lounge with snacks and drinks available all day, an exclusive breakfast restaurant, and a private pool and beach area.
• Swim-Up: This super-cool category is exclusive to Premium Club rates and deserves special note. Nothing beats opening your terrace door and stepping into your pool. Physical space, views, and bedding are all equivalent.
• Suites: The resort’s largest rooms have direct ocean views, though garden suites are also available. Specific one-bedroom accommodations are just for adults, but a Family Suite option is also available. They all include a lovely living room, lofty ceilings, and a hydro massage tub.

The Hilton La Romana is a fantastic choice for couples looking for romance, families looking for a holiday, or groups of friends looking to have fun in the sun. A catamaran ride to Saona or Catalina Island is one of the most unique things to do around the resort. These nature areas are only a short sail away, offering empty, gorgeous beaches, crystal-clear water teeming with colorful fish and reefs, and an even farther getaway from everyday life. While hotel rooms placed on stilts over lagoons are common throughout the country, LUX South Ari Atoll does it better than most, particularly among all-inclusive resorts. Overwater rooms in this resort are more appropriately referred to as overwater villas because they are gigantic, luxurious in nature, and have huge, furnished terraces with direct ocean access and individual infinity pools.

At the LUX South Ari Atoll, you can choose an all-inclusive package that includes your accommodation and all meals, snacks, and drinks. Except for Umami and Allegria, two à-la-carte supper restaurants at which most all-inclusive visitors receive a discount, all outlets are included; however, stays in higher room categories for more extended periods may consist of a dinner at each. Other inclusions include entertainment, resort activities, and spa facility access.

What Should You Do?

There’s plenty to do on this picturesque island if you can drag yourself away from your villa’s private balcony, ocean access, and swimming pool. There are two more resort pools and lengthy stretches of picture-perfect sandy beaches. The all-inclusive package includes snorkeling equipment, pedal boats, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards for exploring the lagoon’s tranquil waters. There are also scheduled snorkeling tours to a nearby reef.

Scuba divers who want to go even closer to the reef and marine life will appreciate the on-site PADI dive center, equipped with tanks and local knowledge on the best places to see whale sharks and manta rays. Several diving packages optimize what you see while minimizing the money you pay. First-time visitors can even obtain certification here. Sport fishing, kite surfing, waterskiing, wakeboarding, jet skiing, and even flyboarding are other Maldivian activities offered on the atoll.

What Should You Eat and Drink?

The island has six restaurants, five bars, and in-villa dining. Breakfast buffets are available at both MICE and East Market, with classic favorites and intriguing stations cooking food worldwide. For lunch, switch to à-la-carte, eating at one of the resort’s many restaurants. Beach Rouge specializes in Mediterranean tapas, while Senses Restaurant, Bar, & Lounge delivers Indian, Middle Eastern, and Maldivian-inspired cuisine.

Veli Bar and Lagoon Bar are two laid-back pools and beachside hangouts that serve resort classics like crab sandwiches and tuna tartare. At supper, Senses and Beach Rouge continue to provide à-la-carte delicacies, while MICE and East Market offer huge buffets. Umami, which serves Japanese sushi and teppanyaki, and Allegria, which serves traditional Italian fare, are two extra à-la-carte alternatives that are not included in the all-inclusive package but can be enjoyed at a discounted rate.

Room Instructions

At LUX South Ari Atoll, there is a decent room in the house. The critical decision is whether you want to be above the water or on the beach, as well as whether you want your pool.

• Beach Pavilions & Villas: On the sandy atoll coastlines, these beach cottages are beautifully outfitted with espresso machines, trendy furniture, and a private patio to enjoy the island air. Beach Pavilions are 645 square feet (60 square meters) in size, but Beach Villas are over 1,000 square feet (95 square meters), containing a beautiful indoor-outdoor bathroom with a large tub outdoors.
• Two-Bedroom Family Lagoon or Beach Pavilions: These larger, multi-bedroom bungalows are ideal for families with children who don’t want to worry about water safety issues. They provide immediate beach and sea access, luxury balconies, and two bathrooms.
• Maldives Water Villas: This category takes you over the lagoon’s crystal clear water – unquestionably a bucket-list stay for many travelers and ideal for a romantic stay. A glass floor window, a large deck with direct ocean access, and a catamaran net hammock over the water complete the more than 1,050 square feet (98 square meters) of living area.
• Beach Pool Villas: If you want to stay on the beach, there’s one more accommodation style to consider. Private plunge pools on the terrace and a huge jacuzzi tub and outdoor shower provide optimum solitude and relaxation on the beach.

The Romantic Pool Water Villas and Temptation Pool Water Villas are the room types that earned the resort our recommendation. The Romantic villa has approximately 1,200 square feet (110 square meters) of space, including an infinity pool, a suspended bird’s nest swing, and a drop-down projector for watching movies in bed. The Temptation villa has a larger infinity pool, a circular bed, a separate living room space, and a jacuzzi. The presidential suite at Lux* Villa is more akin to a mansion on stilts on the lagoon. It has a butler, private carriage service, quality bicycles, a quiet location, see-through glass floors, and other abundant features. The deck’s infinity pool is unlike anything you’ve ever seen.

Special Occasions

Staying in an overwater bungalow is a beautiful experience in and of itself, but there are a few ways to amp up your fun at LUX South Ari Atoll. Yoga and a sound bath aboard a traditional Maldivian dhoni boat are two of the resort’s unique pleasures. This adventure is entirely private and just for a couple, and it includes a golden hour on the river with meditation and serenity.

For something more energetic, schedule a jet ski safari to see what the Maldives is most famed for its waters. You’ll race across the quiet lagoon, witnessing the rich hues of blue of the deep and the colorful reefs of the shallows, and may even dock on a secluded sandbank for lunch. You can even get into the deep portion of the lagoon and discover more about one of the country’s most famous creatures: the friendly, enormous whale shark. The Beaches Turks and Caicos Resort has 12 miles of beachfront land on Grace Bay, one of the world’s top-rated beaches in 2018. The silky white beach, crystal blue ocean, and calm tide make for an ideal area to unwind – or to enjoy various water activities such as paddle boarding, snorkeling, or jet skiing.

What Should You Do?

The beach has previously been mentioned, but it is well worth repeating. Grace Bay’s beaches are among the most gorgeous in the world, and you could spend your whole holiday sitting in a beach chair without feeling guilty. The mild seas are ideal for aquatic activities such as paddle boarding, snorkeling, and more and are the perfect resting area.

The Beaches Resort provides all of the essential equipment for snorkeling, kayaking, and paddle boarding, as well as instruction for those who require it. If you want a more exhilarating way to see Turks & Caicos’ waters, the Beaches Resort includes water skiing, tubing, windsurfing, and more in the price of your stay. The resort offers plenty of entertainment for children and teenagers.

The resort’s central feature is the “Pirate’s Island” waterpark, which has waterslides, splash pads, a wave pool, and a lazy river covering 45,000 square feet of enjoyment. The waterpark is open. Suitable for children of all ages, life jackets are provided, albeit several waterslides have height restrictions. Teens have access to an Xbox gaming lounge and a game room with traditional analog games like foosball, ping pong, and billiards. The resort also provides a nightly “night club” for teens called “Liquid,” where everyone is welcome to dance and mingle with other guests.

The Beaches Turks and Caicos Resort has over 20 restaurants and bars, with the occasional food truck thrown in for good measure. From excellent dining to kitsch, from Italian to Caribbean, the Beaches Resort will leave you confused about where to eat next. We had to pick a few that stood out among so many to cover:

Neptune’s

Neptune’s is the place to go for fresh seafood with a Mediterranean twist. Neptune’s is a beachfront restaurant with an open-air dining space that has received rave reviews from numerous guests. This is a terrific option for any meal during your stay because it is both sophisticated and relaxed. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided daily between 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. p.m., with intervals in between.

Arizona’s

Those looking for extra heat should head to Arizona for some southwestern food. Like many of the Beaches Resort’s dining alternatives, Arizona’s is an oceanfront, open-air restaurant where you can fully absorb the scenery. What begins as a lunch buffet transitions into a la carte eating in the evening. Delicious Tex-Mex options like bourbon baby back ribs or pulled pig—every day from noon until 9:30 p.m.

The Jerk Shack

You can only go to Turks & Caicos and eat some Caribbean cuisine, so Jerk Shack has you covered. Jerk Shack is far more casual than Neptune’s or Arizona’s, more of a stand right on the beach with picnic tables close for meals. Be aware of the simple decor; Jerk Shack’s real jerk and standard accompaniments carry a tasty punch. They are open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Sky

Sky is a great dining alternative for adults looking for a night out. The restaurant is on a rooftop, providing lovely views of the Atlantic Ocean and an unrivaled ambiance. The food is as attractive as the surroundings, with a Caribbean and Italian influence. While it is not essential, we strongly advise making a reservation beforehand.  All cocktails are crafted with top liquors, and the price includes all meals and beverages—during your stay. Because seating is limited, we recommend arranging some of your dining in advance. It’s also worth noting that some fancier restaurants have a dress code, so bring something decent to wear that isn’t your beach trunks.

Room Instructions

You may have noticed that Beaches Turks & Caicos has a staggering 51 room kinds – fantastic for finding the right match, but not so wonderful for those who don’t want to check through them all! Fortunately, they may be divided into four distinct “levels” with varying amenities and added services. Choose which interests you most, then look at the numerous bedding, view, and size possibilities. Beaches’ entry-level rooms are undeniably opulent, with high-end furnishings and an expansive balcony. Two double and one king bed with pool or tropical garden views are available. There are additional rooms on the bottom level with walkout terraces.

Concierge Level: This is also known as Club Sandals, and it provides you with private and personalized treatment from the minute you arrive and access to a club lounge. This category includes basic rooms with king beds, but the design and furniture are more modern and sophisticated. However, most rooms on the Concierge Level are suites with one to three bedrooms; some feature specific kids’ rooms with bunk beds. This level also has ocean views as well as garden and pool views.

Butler Level & Together Nest Suites: Butler Level rooms are all suites with personal service that goes one (or many) steps beyond, ranging from one-bedroom penthouses to four-bedroom oceanfront villas with private pools Check-in, unpacking, making dining reservations, and maintaining your beverage supply filled, and much more will be handled by your butler. They can even put up a special banquet on your terrace, with meals from any restaurant. Nest Suites are the same as Butler Level Suites – this is how Beaches classifies accommodations ideal for families that wish to be secluded in luxury.

Special Occasions

Grace Bay Beach is already one of the world’s most coveted beaches. Exceptional, any visitor to this piece of heaven should make the most of it. Aside from complimentary water sports such as paddle boarding, kayaking, hydro biking, and snorkeling, you can arrange a boat tour of the most remote cays and reefs. A trip through the crystal-clear mangrove shores is a personal favorite. Divers should take advantage of the opportunity to dive into one of Turks and Caicos’ outstanding reef walls.

The resort provides plenty of spectacular entertainment for adults and children when the sun goes down. Sesame Street stage plays, fashion presentations, and talent contests occur every night, while older youngsters can. You can party at the Liquid Teens and Tweens nightclub and make new friends. The parents will enjoy the local music performances and cuisine, while Liquid nightlife will be open to adults after a set hour.

A romantic dinner under the stars is the ideal way to spend an evening away from the kids for couples looking for romance on their trip to Beaches. If you book on the Butler Level, this is even included in your room. Otherwise, this might be set up on a pier or the beach. Your waiter will handle every aspect.
