The Y.M.C.A. of the Triangle has bolstered the very foundations of the community it has served for 165 years. They are passionate about becoming a force for good and are proud of their varied community. Through Y.M.C.A. memberships and programs, they assist residents of the Triangle from all socioeconomic backgrounds. Track Out Camps at Y.M.C.A.

Program Specifics
Track Out Y.M.C.A. For each year-round school, camp sessions are available. The Y.M.C.A.s in Wake County is where the program is offered. Children spend time swimming, playing games, exercising, and doing arts and crafts every day.
Children spend the day with their peers, Y.M.C.A. youth employees, and counselors in age- and grade-appropriate groups. Your child may stay entertained throughout the day with plenty of outdoor playtimes, S.T.E.M. activities, and physical activity.
From 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Y.M.C.A. Track Out Camp is open to children aged 5 to 14 and students in kindergarten through eighth grade. At 7:30 in the morning, the Northwest Cary Y.M.C.A. Track Out Camp program begins.
Sessions
Based on the multi-track calendar, weekly sessions of Track Out Camp are available. The majority of weeks consist of five days, while some may be shorter due to holidays or teacher workdays. Every break lasts about three weeks. There is a distinct topic for each Track Out session, and activities are designed around the theme.
School vacation camps

Program Specifics
On the majority of teacher workdays and holidays in Wake and Johnston Counties, Y.M.C.A. summer camps are available. The program is conducted at their Y.M.C.A.s in the counties of Wake, Durham, Chatham, and Johnston. Children spend time playing games, participating in sports, swimming (when the weather permits), and doing arts and crafts every day.
Children spend the day with their peers, Y.M.C.A. youth employees, and counselors in age- and grade-appropriate groups. Your child may stay entertained throughout the day with plenty of outdoor playtimes, S.T.E.M. activities, and physical activity.
For children aged 5 to 14, kindergarten through grade 8, the Y.M.C.A. School Holiday Camp is open from 7 a.m.* to 6 p.m.

Nighttime Camp Y.M.C.A. For campers aged 5 to 15, overnight camps serve as a home away from home.
They have three overnight camps: Camp Sea Gull in Arapahoe, Camp Seafarer in Wake Forest, and Camp Kanata in Wake Forest. Its camps on the coast provide summer programs in one, two, or four weeks and concentrate on seamanship,
In Wake Forest, North Carolina, Summer Camp Kanata is located on 150 acres of lakes, woodlands, and trails. One-week programs at Camp Kanata are available.
All three overnight camps are run by exceptionally skilled, trained counselors, many of whom were formerly campers and C.I.L.T.s.
Day Camps for Sports
Children can participate in a whole summer of baseball, basketball, flag football, soccer, and other sports at Y.M.C.A. Sports Summer Day Camps. Sports Day Camps are run by teenagers in high school and college who are skilled in the sport, love to mentor young people and serve as good role models.
Each week, a different sport is the emphasis of the program. Each week includes camp assemblies, swim time, skill development activities, and scrimmages.
Day camps at the Y.M.C.A. have been around for a while
Full-day summer programs are offered by the Y.M.C.A.s and other community organizations all across the Triangle. Numerous activities, including sports, games, arts and crafts, and swimming, are offered in these summer camps.

Teenagers in high school or college who were many times themselves campers make up the Y.M.C.A. youth staff. They serve as good examples of hard work, enjoyment, and compassion.
Y.M.C.A. Summer Camp Cheerio In N.C.
Everyone in the family may find something to do at Camp Cheerio, including regular summer programs, high adventure camps, and year-round retreats. Cheerio is a place where you may study, grow, and have fun in a laid-back Christian environment. It is situated in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina and Virginia.
For children entering the second grade to students entering the tenth grade, Cheerio Camp offers residential summer camping.
Kids may have fun, pick up new skills, and make friends in their welcoming, non-competitive camp environment. For each session, 330 campers can stay at the facility. They are divided into twenty-eight cabins according to their age and grade level, with two counselors placed in each cabin.
Cheerio offers campers the ability to take part in a variety of activities that help them explore and develop their potential and lives as young Christians in a secure and supportive atmosphere throughout the four weeks of Girls Camp and the six weeks of Coed. Camp Cheerio is located on 135 acres of beautiful terrain, perched on the eastern slope of the Blue Ridge Mountains, with lots of space for running around, playing, and developing.
Cheerio provides campers with more than 35 different activities to choose from,
comprising target sports, field games, creative arts, aquatic sports, and challenge sports. The action continues well into the evening! In a variety of evening programs, campers will have more chances to showcase their athleticism, creativity, and performing abilities.
During their time at Traditional Camp, campers can also take advantage of the numerous neighboring attractions by taking exhilarating day trips. These adventures include going caving, climbing Stone Mountain, paddling on the New River, and hiking down the mountain to Carowinds. Some campers get a chance to experience something once in a lifetime on these trips, as well as get more chances to do what they love.
The things you can do at the traditional camp
Over 35 different activities are available at Camp Cheerio to challenge, educate, and thrill campers of all ages and skill levels. Camp favorites like horseback riding, arts and crafts, and canoeing are available, as well as the trendiest fads like Zumba & yoga and Ultimate Frisbee & Disc Golf. Choosing what to try first is the only difficult part!
Cheerio campers are allowed to pick their own activities because they are the ones who know themselves best and what they would like.
A personalized schedule will be made for each camper that includes 8 of the ten activities they choose. They will go to 4 classes on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. During 2-week sessions, the same rotating pattern is expanded to include Fridays and Saturdays. Cabin Time, which will involve a group task for the cabins to complete, will take place during the fifth activity session. During the final two hours of each session, campers are free to come and go from their preferred locations as often as they please before returning home.

Amenities & Facilities
On 195 acres of magnificent forests, Y.M.C.A. Camp Kirkwood offers a swimming pool for cooling off, hiking trails for exploring nature, a 10-acre lake for water sports, and many more camp activities for kids and families to enjoy. Just 5.5 miles north of Burgaw near Watha, North Carolina, is where you’ll find Y.M.C.A. Camp Kirkwood. The camp is conveniently located near the main roads leading to North and South Carolina and is only 40 minutes from Wilmington.
Both indoor and outdoor camping options are available at Camp Kirkwood. There are eight cabins scattered across the camp, each with heating, air conditioning, and indoor restrooms. Each cabin may accommodate up to 14 people, thanks to its seven bunk beds. In addition, eight screened-in cabins in the camp’s more primitive region offer a more authentic wilderness experience, and tenting sites with fire pits are available for campers who prefer the “very primitive” experience.
Dining
Up to 140 people can be seated at tables in the dining room, or 200 people can be seated at theater-style. Spaces for Gathering and Meeting
Outdoor gazebo (roof and no walls)
The pavilion outside has 140 seats. It’s a terrific location for arts and crafts projects, picnics, or improv games when the weather is nice.
Vega Dell (outdoor chapel)
Up to 150 people can sit in stadium-style seats in the Vesper Dell, which also gives a stunning view of the lake. Electric outlets are provided in this space if needed for screens, sound systems, and lights. They can help set up your meeting space if you let them know what you need.
Object Lodge
The Unit Lodge is an excellent alternative for up to 80 people, even if it is smaller than the Dining Hall. Recently, they upgraded a working fireplace and put in new flooring. This is a comfortable venue for gatherings because it has a full kitchen and restrooms.
Labyrinth of Prayer
This place for walking meditation has the lake as its backdrop. Taking the time to navigate this well-marked trail of detours can help you find peaceful focus and reduce your tension, to name just two advantages.
Activities
Y.M.C.A. Camp Kirkwood features a large selection of outdoor activities for both children and adults to enjoy on its more than 195 acres of land. Fishing, canoeing, paddle boarding, kayaking, and lake rafting are available on their 10-acre lake. An outdoor swimming pool, hiking paths, high and low ropes courses, a zip line, archery, and B.B. gun range, Swing By Choice, and a power pole are other camp features.

Summer Day Camp High Hopes
Children in our community who may already be receiving assistance through one of their high-needs programs can participate in the Camp High Hopes Summer Day Camp program. Day camp Camp High Hopes is entirely sponsored. Donations to the Y.M.C.A. Annual Campaign fund the program.
The regular day camp activities of Camp High Hopes Sports Camp include a weekly focus on a particular sport, such as basketball, football, or soccer.
At Ligon Middle School, located at 706 E. Lenoir St. in Raleigh, NC, Camp High Hopes Sports Camp is hosted.
Summer Camp G.R.A.C.E. NC For Y.M.C.A.
Children with Pervasive Developmental Disorders (PDD), Autism Spectrum Disorder, and other special needs can attend Camp G.R.A.C.E., a day camp. Each Camp G.R.A.C.E. program lasts one week and focuses on developing a single skill while incorporating therapeutic concepts from several disciplines.
They provide two different sessions: Building Blocks and Social Skills. For kids who don’t need one-on-one help, social skills sessions are created. The emphasis of these courses will be on social settings, teamwork exercises, and activity skill development. A smaller ratio is used in the Building Blocks sessions to allow for more individualized attention.
Children spend the entirety of their camp session working and playing in their huddles to learn new games, finish art projects, take part in music and dog therapy sessions, and much more. Additionally, children will get to take part in sensory integration and water activities, as well as time for character and social skill development.
The Y.M.C.A. of the Triangle, A Small Miracle, L.L.C., the Autism Society of North Carolina, Community Partnerships, Maxim Home Health, and independently hired behavioral psychologists all contributed time and experience to the creation of Camp G.R.A.C.E. The Y.M.C.A. is able to offer Camp G.R.A.C.E. because of the generosity and commitment of the aforementioned groups and supporters to its annual campaign.
For many people in their community, Camp G.R.A.C.E. is able to provide camp to any child in need, regardless of their family’s or caregiver’s financial situation. They are also aware of the extra financial difficulties that come with raising a kid with special needs, and they want to do everything in their power to help you. Characters Matter at Camp
For demonstrating their five character traits—honesty, respect, caring, responsibility, and faith—campers at the Y.M.C.A. Summer Day Camp can receive beads. By being kind friends, picking up after themselves, or leading a camp prayer, campers can earn beads every day.
High Hopes Y.M.C.A. Summer Camp, NC
Children in their neighborhood who may already be receiving assistance from one of their high-needs programs are welcome to attend the Y.M.C.A. Camp High Hopes Summer Day Camp program. The Y.M.C.A.’s Annual Campaign donations cover the whole cost of Camp High Hopes.
Children take part in character-building exercises, literacy classes, athletics, and swimming sessions at Camp High Hopes. Each child will have a snack and a hot, nourishing lunch every day, thanks to the Y.M.C.A.’s collaboration with Wake County Public Schools.
In addition to conventional day camp programs, Camp High Hopes also runs C.I.L.T., Kindergarten Readiness, and Middle School camps. Motivated teenagers receive practical leadership training through the Camper In Leadership Training (C.I.L.T.) curriculum as they support, mentor, and oversee younger campers.
Kids entering grades K–10 are welcome at Camp High Hopes. The A.E. Finley Y.M.C.A. will be running Camp High Hopes at Carroll Magnet Middle School (4520 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, NC).
C.I.L.T.
Ages 13 to 15 are the oldest campers in Leadership Training. These campers will take part in unique activities, practical instruction, and the development of their leadership abilities.
Secondary School High Hopes Grades 6 through 8 attend middle school. While still being safe and taking part in day camp activities, older campers have more rights and independence than younger campers.
Readiness – Kinder Garten
They use this scaled-down “camp within a camp” strategy for their incoming kindergarteners. They give extra attention to their youngest campers and assist in preparing them for kindergarten and the new responsibilities that come with attending school. In order to provide more individualized care, this camp also has lower staff-to-child ratios.
