Summer Camps Sanday Springs

by Leave a Comment

Many people’s most treasured life memories are made at summer camps in Sandy Springs. They are able to remove the children from their regular environment and immerse them in something novel and interesting, teaching them several new skills and facilitating the development of new friendships. Children who are sent to summer camp must be capable of independent decision-making without their parent’s assistance. Children develop a great deal of independence and self-sufficiency at overnight camps, especially because they are even responsible for getting up, getting ready, and getting to breakfast on time. There are frequent kids from all different backgrounds at camp. This is beneficial for your child because it gives them a chance to meet new people, learn about them, and develop friendships with folks they might not otherwise have.

Sandy Springs Summer Camp Apostles Learning Center

For more than 40 years, summer camp at Sandy Springs’ Apostles Learning Center (ALC) has fostered children’s growth in a loving and supportive atmosphere. Center of Distinction, the National Association for the Education of Young Children, and most recently, have all granted accreditation to ALC over the course of its long history as an accredited center (National Early Childhood Program Accreditation). Children at ALC are grouped into classrooms according to their age and developmental level. Additional music, science, and Spanish instruction complement the curriculum. They think that the small class sizes and low child-to-staff ratios at ALC are essential to ensuring the success of your kids. Additionally, ALC satisfies or surpasses all requirements for Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning certification (Bright from the Start). The highest grade available under the program, a Three-Star Bright from the Start Quality Rating, has been attained by ALC. The Georgia Preschool Association is a member of ALC.

Programs ALC

Infants No. 1 and No. 2

In order to support each child’s development and growth, they place a strong emphasis on their unique requirements in the Infants 1 & 2 classes. They think it’s important for parents and caregivers to communicate. The ALC staff and instructors are always available to talk about how to create the ideal environment for your kid.

Preschools No. 1 and No. 2

They emphasize life skills in PS1 and PS2. They are assisting the kids in developing self-assurance and coping mechanisms that will help them adjust to their surroundings. The ALC staff and instructors are always available to talk about how to create the ideal environment for your kid.

Early Preschool and Tots

In Tots and Early Preschool, the priority is the holistic development of the child. They are assisting them in acquiring the resources they need to succeed. The ALC staff and instructors are always available to talk about how to create the ideal environment for your kid.

Georgia Pre-K Program

Two Pre-K classrooms at ALC are supported by the state and concentrate on language and literacy, including phonemic awareness, science, arithmetic, and early writing abilities. Pre-K is a 6.5-hour curriculum that runs from 8:30 am to 3 pm.

Top Advantages Of Kids Summer Camp In Sandy Springs

Summer is here! The majority of us recall our childhood summers as apparently endless, carefree days with nostalgia and love. However, some of us may feel conflicted about this season for our own children now that they are parents. How will you juggle childcare and employment? How can they stop saying, “I’m bored!”? Are there any summertime educational activities they can engage them in? Why have the grocery and electricity costs risen so dramatically overnight?

The ideal response to these queries may be encapsulated in two letters: SUMMER CAMP! Did you realize that summer camp has a lot of advantages for kids in addition to being enjoyable? Here are a few examples.

Making Friends and Socializing

Youth may socialize and make new friends during summer camp, which is one of its biggest advantages.

Kids sometimes struggle to make or keep connections with classmates their own age over the summer. Most children would claim that while they are not in school, they mostly interact with adults aside from their brothers or cousins. Children learn how to build solid, healthy relationships through interacting with their classmates, in addition to learning crucial life skills like sharing, setting limits, and problem-solving. A summer camp program offers kids a secure setting in which they can hone their social and decision-making abilities and perhaps even get a taste of nature. In actuality, interaction during childhood may promote growth and development more so than reading or consuming a healthy diet! From early childhood to adolescence, a joyful atmosphere like summer camp is an excellent method to promote this in your own children.

Limiting screen time and engaging in physical activity.

Technology-enabled circumstances linked to sedentary behavior are on the rise. In fact, physical inactivity, which begins in childhood, is today the main contributor to illness and disabilities in the United States. Sedentary lifestyles, per the World Health Organization (WHO), double the risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and obesity, as well as depression, anxiety, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, lipid problems, colon cancer, and other conditions that are largely fully preventable. Summer camp is a fantastic answer, even though it frequently requires a little more imagination to get your kids moving and reduce screen time at home throughout the summer. The majority of these programs are located outside and provide kids with a variety of physical activities to engage in. Along with having fun and getting out of the house, kids will engage in activities like hiking, archery, horseback riding, swimming, zip-lining, and team sports, all of which will provide them with a good amount of exercise. Giving your kids the freedom to play outside and socialize with other kids throughout the summer is a great way to extend their horizons and expose them to a completely new culture.

Personal Development, Learning, and Growth

The majority of summer camps have a theme or include elements of education, exploration, character development, and personal growth. There are many various camps kinds to think about if you’re searching for entertaining summer activities for your kids, including sports camps, cooking camps, art camps, science camps, and many more. You may be sure that your youngster will be challenged and educated in addition to being amused. They are developing their skills in learning, teamwork, problem-solving, knowledge, and self-awareness while having fun and pursuing their own interests. According to research, 70 percent of parents whose children attend summer camps say that their child developed self-confidence while there. One of the many ways that your son or daughter might benefit from attending summer camp is by developing a strong sense of self. They can benefit much from learning about themselves and the outside world outside of the conventional school setting.

Positive examples

A further advantage of summer camp is the chance it gives your kid to interact with positive adult role models. Younger adults who choose to volunteer or work part-time during their own summer breaks from college commonly serve as camp counselors. These counselors are not just animated, but youngsters often regard them as “cool” and frequently find them to be a little more relatable than their own parents. This has the potential to be a great benefit in your kids’ life (and yours). When children see what their own life can be like in a few years, it can be beneficial for them, and if the “cool camp counselor” is someone your child admires and respects, your child is likely to do the same. While cooperating with others also fosters a sense of community in the child or teenager. The development of these role model relationships can aid children in gaining the self-assurance, self-worth, and abilities necessary for success in both school and life. Overall, a kid or young person is more likely to prosper in all areas long after summer camp is over the more healthy, pleasant adult interactions they have in their lives.

Creating Memory

Many grownups would agree that some of their favorite childhood memories were spent at those warm summer camps. Sadly, some of the simplicity of life before the advent of technology is being lost on today’s youth. Even though the world has changed significantly, and that has great worth, nothing compares to saving those uncomplicated, unplugged childhood memories. In addition to developing their social, leadership, and decision-making abilities, summer camp participants also engage in a lot of physical activity. Yes, at first, your child might miss their phone, tablet, or gaming system, but once they get going and begin to explore, interact with their peers, partake in a variety of activities, and have new adventures, they are sure to return from summer camp with tales, photos, friendships, life lessons, and memories that will last a lifetime.
