We are conveniently close to championship public golf courses, excellent dining, one-of-a-kind shopping, fishing, boating, a variety of attractions, and world-class beaches in Atlantic City, Brigantine, and Ocean City. Computer Discovery Camp
The computer industry is always changing, and in response, Cal Poly Pomona has established a new camp that will push campers even further. School districts are upgrading their computer curricula. To enable campers to create more intricate apps, worlds, and animations, we now use Alice as our primary programming tool. The campers will also create 3D printable things using Autodesk software. Campers can anticipate scanning artifacts and meshing them into various forms or creating objects from the start using computer-assisted design (CAD) software. Every camper will be able to take home a piece of art that they personally designed and made.
The 5-day course will be an animated experience for kids aged 10 to 14. The software and methods needed to create both 2D and 3D animation will be taught to campers. The creation of virtual worlds with 3D items, characters, and tales uses these skills. Campers will proceed into videogame development through various platforms to create games or apps that may be shared. The camp’s use of commercial tools for 3D printing and app development is among its other attractions. Our computer science camps are an excellent method for your young campers to gain practical skills while also having a great time.
Horse
The 5-day session will be a gallop of fun for kids aged 10 to 16. There are two campers to one horse. The camp’s instructors lead children through a program that includes basic equitation, horsemanship, grooming, tacking, nutrition, anatomy, and humane education. It is not merely a horse-riding camp; in addition to chores, campers complete arts and crafts projects that feature horses. Cleaning tack (equine accessories), feeding, boarding, and stable upkeep are some of these duties. The camper will undoubtedly have a memorable experience at our horse camp, leaving them with priceless memories.
Camp MakeCode for Robotics
The Cal Poly Pomona Robotics Camp has improved its curriculum by including MakeCode, a more sophisticated Microsoft program. Campers will use object-oriented programming to direct the actions of robots while still learning how to program logically with the help of the well-known Lego EV3 MINDSTORMS robotics. MakeCode is an Object-Oriented Robotics programming language that encourages campers to pursue programming education. It makes use of a user-friendly interface and programming blocks or JavaScript. The arithmetic and logic skills required by MakeCode are higher than those of the more conventional Lego educational program. Students can control robot behavior, sophisticated programming, and subroutine capabilities with MakeCode.
Research Camp
The scientific camps have been improved, incorporating camp activities with those found in college curricula. The motto of Cal Poly Pomona is “Learn by Doing,” and campers will adopt this attitude as they follow the Next Generation Science Standards. Science Camp is made to be a ton of fun and to get students interested in learning and science at a young age. Activities at Science Camp are based on projects and exercises that include team challenges, general arts & crafts, and fascinating science-related activities. Camp Imagination
They are now providing our live animals, crafts, & projects camp for children 5-7 years old in response to parental demand. Our programs, sometimes referred to as our Imagination Camps, give campers a chance to express their creativity while enhancing their social skills. Imagination camps offer children a welcoming setting where they can develop healthy relationships, raise their social self-esteem, and encourage innovation by igniting their imaginations. Additionally, campers are given some academic challenges that are geared at grades K–2.

According to their objective to foster student creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship, The iLab inspires young minds and gives them the resources and the courage to turn their ideas into reality. Through programming, workshops, mentor networks of alumni and community businesses, and cutting-edge curricula, such as STEAM, a year-long multidisciplinary innovation course, and a NASA Technology course, the iLab have fostered an entrepreneurial ecosystem on the Cal Poly Pomona campus for student innovators, inventors, and entrepreneurs since its founding in 2015.

What measures have the camps taken to lower the chance of camper infections?
- Around the camp, we will liberally distribute hand sanitizer.
- For the duration of each camp day, campers must don a face mask. Camp staff will have masks accessible for the campers, but families are required to send their children with masks.

What ought my kid to pack for camp?
They advise campers to wear comfortable clothes that account for the hot summer weather in the Pomona region. Items that are new and pricey have no place in the camp. If a child brings any of these goods to camp, they will be confiscated and kept under administrative supervision for the remainder of the session (week).
When is the complete payment due?
The total amount is payable at registration for Horse Camp. The remaining payment is payable prior to the start of your camp week for the science, computer, robotics, entrepreneurship, and imagination camps. Our camps are tuition-for-service arrangements based on signed contracts and confirmed enrollments. Reserving your children’s spot in their program, a $75 non-refundable/non-transferable deposit is required at the time of enrollment, each session, per child. The whole cost of Horse Camp must be paid at the time of enrollment because the Arabian Horse Center does not accept deposits.
The same activities are repeated each week, or are there different activities each week?
The first four weeks of Science Camp are all unique, and your child is unlikely to participate in the same activity twice unless it yields a different result each time. Weeks 1-4 of Science Camp and weeks 5-8 are repeated. Every week that the Horse Camp is provided, the same curriculum is followed, although the horseback riding activities may differ. The projects, products, and challenges in the Computer, Robotics, Entrepreneurship, and Imagination camps are different every week, even though they use the same tools and/or activities.
How will my camper spend his or her time at the Science Camps?
In our “vault,” they have a significant variety of science-related activities. Each week, the camp counselors decide what the campers will do. Consequently, no two weeks will be the same. Making catapults, making slime (everyone’s favorite), candy chromatography, magnetic putty, solar system models, producing biogas from fruit, creating volcanoes, creating lightning with steel wool and rubber balloons, building small robots, and many other activities are examples of things they might do. Each activity also includes a lesson because, after all, we ARE a university. Also available to campers are general arts and crafts.

Can my child enroll in more than one live camp course each week?
Each week, students are limited to one in-person course enrollment.
Our courses are set up so that you can sign up for a single week or several. Many students decide to enroll in more than one camp session in order to expand their knowledge and learn new disciplines. Students frequently push themselves to their limits for three, four, or even five weeks.
What time do you hold iD Tech Camps?
At iD Tech Camps, day camp sessions run from 9 in the morning to 5 in the afternoon, Monday through Thursday; you can drop off your student between 8:30 and 9:00 a.m. and pick them up between 5:00 and 5:00 p.m. The time for pickup on Friday is 3–4 p.m.

How To Deal With Camp Dear Mountain’s Pre-Camp Anxiety In Pomona
As second-generation camp directors, we have a lot of knowledge about how to make kids feel safe and supported at DMDC. Here are a few suggestions for
Dos and Don’ts while sending a fearful kid to camp.
Do: Keep an open line of communication with them and pay attention to their concerns. Anxiety will only get worse if you ignore it. Let your child know that their anxieties are valid and that you are available to listen to them and offer support since they look to you for solace.
Don’t: Disregard their concerns or act as though you share them. Be supportive and open-minded while remaining steadfast and consoling throughout. Your child’s worry may grow if you demonstrate your own.
Do: Permit your youngster to bring a beloved stuffed animal or toy from home to camp. In a strange and new setting, a reassuring remark or object might go a long way.

Is permission required to enter Pomona State Park?
For daily trips, you must either buy a Vehicle Permit or have a current State Park Passport. Overnight stays require a camping permit. In addition to the State Park Offices, 14-Day, Seasonal, and Annual Camping Passes are also available online.
