Your child will enjoy their summer at the Jamestown 4-H Educational Center’s Adventure Day Camp. Children may study and develop in a safe, enjoyable atmosphere that is provided by their qualified personnel. Age-appropriate activities for boys and girls, ages 6 to 13, promote camaraderie, independence, and leadership. The Jamestown 4-H Educational Center is the ideal setting for kids to learn new things and advance their abilities. Each day, campers engage in four different activities in addition to an hour of swimming.

4-H Program Overview Jamestown Summer Camp
A strong community of 4-H volunteers and professionals, as well as a network of 100 public institutions, support the science, healthy living, and civic engagement programs. Children develop life skills like leadership and resiliency via experiential learning that will help them flourish both now and in the future.
4-H clubs, camps, in-school and after-school activities, as well as local physical and online clubs, are all places where you can find 4-H resources and programming. Youth choose a project from a list of practical project ideas to finish with the assistance of adult mentors. There are 4-H programs for children and teenagers ages 8 to 18. For children aged 5-7, 4-H Cloverbud programs are available. The foundation of 4-H programs is the idea that children learn best by doing. The ideal location for your future event, retreat, or program is the Jamestown 4-H Educational Center. We are less than one mile from the Colonial Parkway, less than five miles from Colonial Williamsburg, and 20 minutes from Yorktown. You can walk to both Historic Jamestown and the Capital Trail from where we are located. On our land, 250 people can stay or eat while enjoying a clear view of the James River. For children and adults of all ages, our qualified staff can offer recreational and educational programs.

Jamestown provides camps throughout the fall, winter, and spring. Children can express their creativity and go on field trips at our camps. Jamestown camp counselors oversee a variety of seasonal crafts, projects, arts & crafts, sports, games, music, and outings.
Jamestown Summer Camp Programming
Period Playhouse ( Grades K-5)
Every child enrolling at Summer Playhouse is given the opportunity to learn in a fun and engaging environment while also forming connections that will last a lifetime. The Summer Playhouse is a great starting point for exploring the city and its environs.

Summer Vacation (Grades 6-8)
With the goal of involving middle school students in a way that encouraged their input and pushed them to take the lead in attaining their goals, Summer Voyage was created. The youngsters would really get to do something as a result—plan their own summer and venture outside of their immediate neighborhood—that youth in San Francisco’s southern mission area had not been able to do.
Overview:
A program called Summer Voyage aims to foster youth leadership in middle school students. Summer Voyage instructs young people on how to become leaders by teaching them:

In 2018, the Jamestown Community Center happily partnered with the San Francisco Beacon Initiative. By bringing more enrichment programs right to school locations, Beacon Centers focuses on bridging the gap between kids, parents, and local communities. Public schools are transformed by Beacon Centers into locations where kids, youth, parents, and community members participate in constructive, educational, enriching, and healthy activities both inside and outside of school hours. In addition to complementing the academic day, these extracurricular pursuits help students develop the skills needed for academic and personal success. In order to achieve excellent outcomes for our adolescents, families, and communities, it is important to ensure more resources are available and services are better integrated through strong partnerships.

Jamestown High School In North Dakota’s Summer Camp Invention
Day Camp Type Ages: From 5 to 12
Through its signature summer program, Camp Invention®, the National Inventors Hall of Fame® (NIHF) has motivated millions of kids for over 30 years. Children in grades K–6 are taught how to develop the attitude of an inventor throughout the week-long program, which is run by qualified educators. Our education team collaborates with NIHF Inductees each year to develop a fresh STEM curriculum that values experiential learning. With the help of their teammates and the 2022 program, Explore, campers tackle four thrilling challenges while developing their own inventions to address real-world issues.
Aquatics Robotics
Children engage in ocean research and adopt a marine creatures! They employ their capacity for judgment to make design decisions, secure patents for novel aquatic plants and forge a symbiotic bond with their animal. Then they create a special technology that is bio-inspired, and they entice investors at the fish market!
Spacecation
Inspired by actual space travel, campers build Spacepacks and Astro-Arm gadgets to aid them in cuisine that defies gravity, exploring the moon at night, and exploding ice volcanoes! They dig an asteroid and gather information on how animals can hatch and thrive in space before returning to Earth.
STEM and The Attic Art from NIHF come together in one imaginative encounter. In addition, to educate on how to control the emotions that can arise from participating in the creative process, campers also discover how inventions have altered the way people create. To assist them in creating amazing spin art, they even built their own robotic artist!
Stone Arcade
Children build a massive marble arcade while zigzagging through physics, engineering, and games! First, they roll game spheres at various speeds using scientific concepts like potential and kinetic energy. They then strengthen their teamwork skills by cooperating to improve their creations through practical problem-solving!
Summer Camp Season – Jamestown Audubon
Children who attend summer day camp are actively involved in the outdoors, capturing their attention and encouraging them to feel a connection to the environment. In order to do this, ACNC gives campers enough opportunity for unstructured play, outdoor excursions, engaging teachings about nature, and inquiry-based activities.
This summer, four different types of camps are available:
Free Exploration Camps: These camps focus on nature play and are motivated by the interests of the campers. Adults are on hand to supervise and instruct when necessary. According to research, many kids’ lives are lacking in the crucial developmental element of unstructured play, especially outside. There is 20% of scheduled time and 80% of time spent in nature.
Deep and Sticky Learning Camps
Children have a strong curiosity about the world. Thus, the best learning environments allow children to investigate, infer, and draw conclusions from their own experiences. These camps are more structured and use lessons and thematic subjects to keep students interested. 70% of the time is spent learning, and 30% is spent playing outside.
Off-Site Destination Camps
Campers travel off-site to explore nearby natural attractions. Weather-dependent and finalized throughout the camp week, the exact itinerary.
Overnight Camp
The “Into the Woods” camp develops confidence via teamwork, listening, trust, identification, and other abilities. Students develop these abilities throughout this four-day/two-night overnight course.
Requirements at registration time:
Each session requires a $25 payment per child. A week prior to camp, the remaining payment is required. Non-refundable. T-shirts for camp are not required for registrations made before June 1st. Non-refundable. By midnight on Monday before the camp, you want your child(ren) to attend and register.
Refund Procedure:
More than two weeks prior to camp, you can cancel, and ACNC will return all but the membership, deposit, and t-shirt expenses. Less than two weeks before camp begins, cancellations are non-refundable.
Scholarships and Camperships
Financially disadvantaged families can apply for camperships. A deposit is necessary. They cannot be applied as a membership fee. Campers who achieve merit-based requirements may be eligible for scholarships. There are deadlines. Contact ACNC or submit an online application at auduboncnc.org/scholarships.
Before and after camps:
In order to make drop-off and pick-up easier, ACNC provides longer hours.
8:00 a.m. is the drop-off time for pre-camp, which costs $15 for the week or $5 each day.
Post-Camp is $30 for the week or $8 each day and continues until 4:30 p.m.
When registering online, you can add weekly Pre- and Post-Camps at the checkout.
On the day of camp, per diem costs are paid at the front desk.
Weekly fees are reduced by 25% for members. No per diem reduction.
Morning half-day camps do not offer a post-camp. On afternoon half-day camps, there is no Pre-Camp.
Special Remarks:
Campers must be capable of handling their own bathroom requirements.

F.A.Q.
Will you be able to bring food to Jamestown Settlement?
There are picnic tables close to the parking area for the Visitor Center. Coolers and picnicking are prohibited in the historic district, which includes the areas close to the Fort Site and New Towne. Although there are two picnic sites outside the Visitor Center, visitors are welcome to bring their own food and eat there.

Residents in the area are entitled to free general entry to both the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown and the Jamestown Settlement, as well as special exhibitions and daily special activities. Programs that require separate tickets are not eligible for free entry.
