The Frankfort Park District’s mission is to meet the needs of its residents by utilizing volunteers through community and intergovernmental agreements while also designing, providing, and maintaining park facilities, open space, and recreation programs in the most practical, attractive, and financially responsible manner possible. Frankfort Park District summer camp has lots of outdoor recreation, water days, arts & crafts projects, and walking trips. There are full-day and half-day camp options for kids entering first through sixth grade.
Facilities & Parks Of The Frankfort Park District
The park district’s primary facility is the Founders Community Center, which also serves as home to five meeting/classrooms, a gymnasium, a dance studio, a kitchen, and a sizable banquet space. The Founders Community Center is where most of the Park District’s recreation programs are held. This offers culinary courses, hang time, adult fitness programs, youth basketball and volleyball, and arts and crafts workshops for adults and children.
Park in Brookmeadow
located at Mary Drive and Elise Boulevard. A stunning new park with a playground, lots of open space, and a walking track that encircles a five-acre pond can be found in the Brookmeadow Estates neighborhood. The Park District Ponds are off-limits to swimming, boating, ice fishing, and ice skating for everyone’s safety.
Park Sandalwood
Two baseball fields, a swing set, and a paved trail are all part of this peaceful 5-acre community park. There is a natural spring-fed pond and a lot of open space for running and playing. Roy and Dorothy Park Janssen
The Misty Falls subdivision’s Janssen Park, situated near the intersection of 116th Avenue and Netherby Way, offers several brand-new amenities, such as a playground, swings, a picnic pavilion, a walking track, and a 3.5-acre pond with a fishing pier. The location was formally dedicated in October 2010 and featured lovely landscaping. The Park District Ponds are off-limits to swimming, boating, ice fishing, and ice skating for everyone’s safety.
Park at Jackson Creek
A half-mile south of Laraway Rd on Wolf Rd is where you’ll find Jackson Creek Park. The headwaters of Jackson Creek stream are located next to a 4-acre pond in this Park. Softball diamonds, a skate park, basketball hoops, a fishing pier, and a walking track are also located in the Park. The native grassland environment surrounding the pond has earned the Frankfort Park District a 2010 United States Environmental Protection Agency award. Park at Heritage Knolls
A playground with swings, a sand volleyball court, a softball field, a walking route, and a lot of open space can be found in this 5-acre neighborhood park. At the intersection of Parkway Lane and Heritage Drive is Heritage Knolls Park.
Park, Michele Bingham
There are fields for both baseball and soccer in this 4.5-acre neighborhood park. This Park is well-liked by walkers, runners, and bike riders due to its easy access to the Old Plank Trail and enough parking. Michele Bingham Park is at the intersection of Elsner Road and Old Plank Trail.
Park in Butternut Creek Woods
Three playground spaces are located in this distinctive neighborhood park, encircled by tall oaks, maple trees, and undeveloped woodland areas. A walking path at Butternut Park connects directly to Old Plank Trail and meanders through the woods. This is a terrific place for a fun day in the sun or the shade because it has a picnic shelter and a lot of open green areas. At Cedar Road and Lincoln Lane intersection is Butternut Creek, Woods Park.
Park Shaffer
This Park was renovated throughout the summer of 2010 and now offers a new playground with swings, lovely landscaping, and open play areas. Tanglewood Lane and Colorado Avenue are the addresses for Shaffer Park.
Park at Lincoln Meadows
There is a softball field, a swing set, and lots of open space in this 2-acre community park. Johnson Ave. and Elm Street are where you’ll find Lincoln Meadows Park.
Park Main
The oldest and busiest Park in Frankfort is this 25-acre neighborhood park. Main Park, which was renovated in 2007, has a sizable playground and baseball and softball fields and is the home of the Frankfort Falcons football team. The two picnic shelters in the Park, which also include facilities, are available for rent for events, and the lit tennis and volleyball courts are public. The newest improvement to Main Park is a newly built lit ice rink for people who don’t mind the cold.
Park at Indian Boundary
A huge playground with swings, a softball field, picnic tables, and lots of open room for playing and running can be found in this 6-acre neighborhood park. Bicycles, scooters, skateboards, and rollerblades are all acceptable forms of transportation on the Judy Herder Memorial Pumptrack. The Old Plank Trail is also very accessible from this Park. At the intersection of Luther Lane and Nebraska Street sits Indian Boundary Park.
Park Windy Hill
A playground and pavilion are located amid this Park’s gently undulating slopes. The Old Plank route can be reached directly from Windy Hill, and the Park is open, so there is lots of space to play and run around. At the intersection of Pfeiffer Road and Charrington Road is Windy Hill Park.
Park Commissioners
The Frankfort Bark Park, the Splash Pad water park, the award-winning community-built Fort Frankfort, tennis courts, snack stands, and the only lit sledding slope in the vicinity are just a few of the features available at this 60-acre property, which is the district’s largest Park.
North Park’s Lakeview Estates
In addition to a playground, swings, a picnic area, a baseball field, open green space, and a 7-acre pond with a fishing pier, this neighborhood park provides all of these amenities. The Park and Lakeview South Park are connected by a walking trail and are situated in the Lakeview Estates community.
Park at Lakeview Estates
A 10-acre pond with a fishing pier, a playground, a picnic shelter, and tons of open space are all featured in this community park. The Park and Lakeview North Park are connected by a walking path and situated in the Lakeview Estates neighborhood.
Park at Timbers Edge
This peaceful Park features a modest baseball field, a soccer field, a playground, and a shelter. The Park is situated in the Timbers Edge community at S. Oakfield Drive and Pineview Lane.
Park Kohlhagen
This lakeside Park is situated at Cardinal Lake Drive and 108th Avenue in the Cardinal Lake neighborhood. The 4.5-acre pond, a playground with swings, a ton of open space, and easy access to the Old Plank Trail are all features of the Park, which is named in honor of the Kohlhagen family, who originally owned the property.
Park at Stone Creek
This 3-acre Park is situated in the Stone Creek community at the junction of Pineridge Drive and High Stone Way. This Park now boasts a new multi-age playground with swings for kids and adults of all ages, a play structure, and an inclusive revolution spinner.
Park in Sara Springs
East of Jackson Creek Park, on seven acres of open space, is Sara Springs. It is reachable from Jackson Creek Park’s walking path. The address of Sara Springs Park is 22724 South La Grange Road.
Frankfort Adventures Day Camp For The Summer
For another fantastic summer, Frankfort Adventures Day Camp is back. This day camp program is intended for kids in grades 1 through 6 in the fall of 2022. We’ll have lots of outdoor games, water days, arts & crafts projects, and walking field trips at our camp. TBA are additional field trips. Throughout the summer, we’ll also offer exclusive in-house entertainment. Every day, pack a lunch and a bottle of water.

Frankfort Adventures Half-Day Camp for the Summer
This half-day day camp program targets children entering grades K–4 in the fall of 2022. This camp offers outdoor activities, games, water activities, arts & crafts projects, and walking trips. Every day, pack a lunch and a bottle of water. The Frankfort Park District will require a completed Day Camp Packet at registration or at least one week before your kid starts camp.

Memorial Tree Donation
The Frankfort Park District is pleased to carry on the Memorial Tree Program, which involves planting trees in parks for the enjoyment of all Frankfort citizens. Through this initiative, you can have a tree planted in honor or memory of a person, an occasion, or an organization. Giving a tree can honor a deceased family member or friend, remember an important occasion in your life, or honor an organization and its achievements. It can also be done to commemorate someone’s birthday.
A tree in a park chosen: by the giver or recipient and accepted by the Park District can be purchased for $500. Every year, trees will be planted in the spring and fall. A plaque at the base of the tree will also prominently show the year and the name of the individual, occasion, or organization being recognized. The community gains from this program, and the tree will be enjoyed for many years to come.
The following trees are available for planting: American Linden, Red Sunset Maple, Autumn Blaze Maple, Sugar Maple, Red Oak, White or Pink Flowering Crab Apple, and Chanticleer Pear.
Memorial Bench Donation
The Frankfort Park District also provides visitors with the chance to commemorate or remember a person, occasion, or establishment by purchasing a stunning, top-notch 6-foot park seat for placement alongside a walkway in a Frankfort Park District Park or close to a playground (requested location must be suitable for bench placement and approved by the Park District). The bench and a memorial plaque, which will be attached to the bench back, are both included with a $2000 donation. Visit the Founders Community Center to learn more and to view an example of the bench in the lobby.
Playground-Bark Park Operation
The Frankfort Bark Park in Commissioners Park was also funded by this organization and debuted in May 2007. Fundraising is a continuous effort to improve the amenities provided for our canine companions.
What Are The Frankfort Park District’s Refund Policy And Form?
- If cancellation is made at least two working days before the commencement of the program or a doctor’s note is supplied for an injury or illness, a 100% refund will be given, less a $10.00 service fee. The processing of refund checks can take up to two weeks. ** Trips, One-Day Programs, and Special Events cannot be refunded.
- Each and every League deposit is non-refundable. Once the schedules and teams are established, there are NO reimbursements for leagues.
- If cancellation is made before the second-course meeting and is not due to a sickness or injury with medical documentation, a 50% refund will be issued. Within a week of the doctor’s visit, as well as during the program session dates, you must send us the doctor’s letter and a completed refund form.
- All credits for refunds under $20 will be added to the customer’s account.
- At the Park District office, you must personally process any refunds. They cannot be finished by fax or over the phone.
- Without incurring any fees, full refunds are given when: the Park District requests one (for instance, due to low enrolment or a postponed program).
- Fees will be reimbursed wherever possible in the same payment method that was used to make the transaction. Checks for money refunded are mailed out once a month.

Only one day was lost due to my child’s absence from class. Do you offer refunds?
Refunds are not available for one-day programs.
Additionally, refunds are not provided for leagues, excursions, or special events.
Do I have to sign up for programs that are free?
In order to ensure that the instructor is adequately prepared for the lesson, pre-registration is needed for free programs.
Commissioners Park is where?
The address of Commissioners Park is 22108 S. 80th Ave. A mile-long walking route, tennis courts, pickleball courts, disc golf courses, Fort Frankfort, Splash Park, baseball/softball fields, soccer fields, various paved parking lots, and garden plots are all located there. The Operation Playground-sponsored Bark Park (a dog park) and two concession/restroom facilities, made possible by a cooperation with the Village of Frankfort, are also situated on the grounds of Commissioners Park.
What should I do if my child needs to be picked up from camp by someone other than a parent or guardian?
The person must be listed in ePACT as an Authorized Pickup Person if they will be picking up your child instead of the designated parent or guardian. For counselors to evaluate at pickup, all guardians and approved pickup people should have pictures submitted to ePACT.
What happens if I don’t get my kid out of camp on time?
Your camper will be taken to after camp if the pickup person is tardy. If you are late and have not enrolled for after camp, you will be charged $5 for the first five minutes and $1 for each consecutive minute.
