NWA Bike Trail Map

by Leave a Comment

NWA Bike Trail Map More than 250 miles of the best mountain biking trails can be found in Northwest Arkansas, making it one of the greatest places in the country for singletrack experiences. The Ozark Mountains’ rough topography and one of the nation’s most advanced cycling cultures have inspired Northwest Arkansas to build an excellent infrastructure. There are shuttle-supported downhill runs, a world-class jump park, pump tracks, and skills courses among the trails.

The Trail to Lake Atlanta
Gorgeous fast singletrack with a vista, swooping bridges, and gravity cavities are all part of Lake Atalanta’s ten miles of easy, intermediate, and expert bike trails.

Trails at Blowing Springs
This chilly six-mile loop connects to Bentonville’s Slaughter Pen Trails after passing a waterfall, massive bluff sides, and trickling streams.

Trails in City Lake Park
This well-liked park is three miles from the city center and offers raised-bed hiking routes, beginner and intermediate multi-use soft surface trails, and mountain bike-optimized directional flow tracks. In addition, the park intends to provide one of its largest skill courses and pump tracks to date.

Mountain Bike Reserve in Coler
West of the city, there is a mountain biking preserve that has not yet reached its full potential. The trails end at Peak One Hub and include flowy jump lines and difficult technical rocky portions. Aside from wooden platforms for tents and hammocks, Color also includes bathrooms and showers.

Trails on Fitzgerald Mountain
At Fitzgerald Mountain, there are strider courses for children, tricky terrain, and challenging climbs. Additionally, it will include some of the best professional-level mountain biking terrains in the nation.

Small Sugar
Thirty-nine miles of brand-new mountain bike and hiking trails may be found in Bella Vista’s newest trail network. Three loops and more than 20 connectors, ranging from simple to complex, make up this novel system. Once finished, this 50-mile network of meandering trails will take riders over challenging climbs, lengthy descents, and breathtaking scenery.

How To Ride Bike In NWA Bike Trail Map: A Bicyclist’s Guide

A Bella Vista
The entrance to mountain riding in Arkansas is in Bella Vista if you’re coming from the north, as I did. This 28,000-person community has almost 100 miles of singletrack. The Blowing Springs and Back 40 trail networks are quick, supple, and appropriate for riders at all skill levels. The three-mile Ledges Trail, which follows the margins of limestone cliffs and is one of the greatest spots to ride in the area when everything else is muddy due to good drainage, is just one of the many alt lines and challenging spurs available for skilled riders to enjoy. Even a route for bad weather is offered in The Back 40. The brand-new Little Sugar trail network is located on the west side of the road that divides Bella Vista. There are many switchbacks and bermed turns, as well as plenty of drops and jumps. This network is still being developed in parts. Little Sugar will have 50 miles of specialized singletrack when it is finished.

Bentonville
We set up a shop in Bentonville for the bike test this year. In addition to being the most well-known city in the area, Walmart’s corporate headquarters, and the place of the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, Little Rock is the Hub of trail construction and bicycle advocacy in Arkansas. It is amazing how well-integrated paved greenways and singletrack are in and around this region. Mountain bikers who want to rack up the miles can use the Razorback Greenway to connect the 40 miles of the Slaughter Pen trail network near Bentonville with the singletrack in Bella Vista, which is to the north. One of our favorite testing locations was the Cooler Mountain Bike Trail Preserve, which is only two miles west of the city center. The Hub, a 20-foot-tall steel and wood structure that allows riders to drop into the Cease and Desist jump line, the angular gardens of Rock Solid, and the more laid-back Rock Soft Trail, is the highlight of this 300-acre zone. We based our gravel testing in Bentonville because it has several paved bike routes and is surrounded by incredibly rugged dirt roads if road and gravel riding is more your style.

Cayuga Springs
With the exception of the gravity trails around Lake Leatherwood, which need knee protection and an enduro bike, much of the terrain in northwest Arkansas can be successfully traversed on bikes ranging from a cross-country hardtail to a mid-travel trail bike. These are true downhill trails that make the most of the terrain, with doubles, gap jumps, and ten-foot drops. They aren’t Top of the World in Whistler, British Columbia, or Rainmaker at Colorado’s Trestle Bike Park, though you won’t mistake them for either. Even a shuttle service is offered ($20 for a day pass), which we used to make the most of our riding time.

Fayetteville
Fayetteville is the Hub of the local road cycling scene and has a ton of trails. This college town served as the starting point for our road-test excursions, which were surrounded by miles of little-used country roads. The 39-mile Razorback Greenway, which runs from Fayetteville north through Bentonville and into Bella Vista, is frequently used by casual riders, bike commuters, and mountain bikers seeking to connect the several trail systems in the area. Mark the dates of January 29 and 30, 2022, on your calendars if you’re a cyclocross racer or superfan. Fayetteville will be the site of the Cyclocross World Championships.

The Razorback Regional Greenway has been imagined for more than 20 years and is now a reality. This 36-mile shared-use Trail, which is mostly off-road, links the downtown areas of Fayetteville, Springdale, Lowell, Rogers, and Bentonville, as well as those of those cities’ entertainment and arts districts, places to shop, the campus of the University of Arkansas, playgrounds, and neighborhoods.
